One of New Zealand’s most ambitious and talked about motorsport project cars, Mad Mike Whiddett’s Lamborghini Huracan drift car (called NIMBUL) will be on show at Big Boys Toys this year.
‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett has built some insane rotary-powered drift cars over the years, with NIMBUL arguably his craziest work to date.
In this project, Mike stepped away from the wankel rotary engines and replaced them with a power plant, in the form of an Italian-built Lamborgini V10, that sits in the mid section of a brand new Huracan.
In true ‘Mad Mike’ style, not content with a stock standard Huracan, NIMBUL was dropped to the ground on airbags, had a Liberty Walk widebody kit installed, and a set of custom Rotiform wheels fitted to fill out the massive guards.
The Lamborghini NIMBUL was a star at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. It is now set to star, along with Mad Mike himself, at Big Boys Toys’ 21st Birthday show at the ASB Showgrounds from 1-3 November.
